In 1995, with a degree in English and a couple of years of coursework in graphic design and photography from the University of Kansas, I returned to Chicago where I was born and raised, to pursue a career I remain passionate about. It has proved to be a wonderful decision.
Over 15 years ago I watched my first wedding client sort through the proofs of her wedding. When she viewed the last image she began to cry softly, looked at me and said, “These are beautiful.” And I said to myself, “This is amazing.”
I’m always flattered when a couple selects me to record their wedding. This is why I work with you to tailor the photography for you event. You will spend so much time, energy, and yes, money, organizing what will be the most important day of your life, so I invest in the best equipment, software, and back-up methods available to ensure that 20 years after your wedding, you’ll view your images and say, “That was a remarkable day.”
On a personal note: I took my first plane ride at 2 and since have visited most of the US, roughly 40 countries on 5 continents, and have lived abroad twice. I currently reside in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood with my Siamese friend of over 14 years, Spike. When I’m not shooting weddings or commercial work, I can be found in the mountains of Wyoming hiking, fishing and skiing, visiting new restaurants and old haunts such as Sepia and the Publican, and when I’m not dining out, I’m in my kitchen either making a fantastic meal or a fantastic mess.
